February WIPocalypse 02/07/2012
I'll be working the night of the full moon so I won't remember to post then so here's my progress. I put my stitching down to finish these socks. I'm trying to clean off my needles in preparation of Sock Madness next month, aka SM. SM is available on www.ravelry.com through a forum. We sign up all month and this year they released 3 warm up patterns. Starting in March we'll get the first sock pattern and depending on experience and other factors when you finish both socks you'll be organized into groups. Socks 2-what ever are all competed amongst yourselves in your group. So if there's 60 people in group 1 then the first x amount move on to the next round until it's only 1 left in each group. Then those 4 compete to see who's the fastest. If you finish at least one whole sock during round 1 then you'll get all the patterns. This is my third SM, first one I was in the slow team and last year I was in the fast team. This year I hope for soemthing in between. I have a job and sore arms that make my fingers numb when I knit. How ever it works out I'm just really excited to do it again.
The sock pictured is from SM last year, it's called Diamonds in the Fluff, I'm on the gusset of it so should be finished with it this week. I started these socks months ago in California when we were at the hospital for mom in-law. I finally finished sock 1 last week and started the second one. I don't get much crafting done the days I work. I only have like 4 hours between the time I get up till the time I leave and that's if I don't leave early so I can go to the yarn store or library. I'm currently waiting for the audio book of Eldest to arrive though.
It was brought to my attention that this is the year of the dragon. I was buying fabric for a baby quilt for my sis and the lady cutting it commented on how she was making a dragon themed blanket for her daughter's baby because of this. I contemplated adding some dragon fabric before I realized the baby announcement is a dragon. How cool is that? I didn't even know it was the year of the dragon when I started it but then I love dragons. My sister and I are both year of the horses while my little sister is the year of the rabbit.
Sick and Tired 01/28/2012
I put my stitching on hold for a little bit. I can finally knit without my fingers going numb again. Woohoo! So I finished the sock I had on my size 1's and started the matching one. I just finished the ribbing on it though. I have a togo sock on size 2's in my backpack for work and travel it's just a basic toe up ribbed sock.
My daughter thinks I'm about half way with QS Dragon Dreaming. I managed to spill water on it and my pattern pages so I had to change from cross country to square by square as the highlighter colors bled all over the pages. It looks better to me though, seeing full blocks of color on the page. I had to pause because I was out of 939 but daughter had a skein stashed and then I couldn't find my 3809 but the next day she found it with the floss I had put aside for her. So looks like I'll be good to go on it again.
I have work all weekend and am sick again. I don't understand how I've been so sick this year but it's like 2 days after I feel better I get sick again. So tired of it. I got Superbowl Sunday off and am stoked about it. In turn I have to work Wednesday-Saturday instead though. Now I got to go make the long drive to work and hope I make it through the night. Blech.
January WIPocalypse 01/10/2012
I've just been working on the QS Dragon Dreaming. I hope to have it finished by the end of the month. I need to purchase 6 more threads which I will get from Michael's next Tuesday when we go to town. I hate having to drive down there, it's almost a 2 hour drive from my house but the other two living here need to get contact exams so since we're going anyways....
Here's what I've done so far on my dragon, it's on 28ct (I think) and 2 over 1 tent stitching.
Tingly Fingers 01/05/2012
Stitching would go much faster if my hands would stop going numb. I'm not letting it stop me but it sure slows me down. Once my arms get more used to me working it'll get better but I just need time to heal. I'm going to squeeze out one more hour of stitching then crawling into bed.
Baby Sampler 01/04/2012
My sister is pregnant and due in May. It dawned on me today that I really should work on the birth announcement for her. She is having a boy so that left me searching for an appropriate pattern to use. I want to make something that could be used throughout his childhood, not just his baby years. After some thought I'm going to finish QS Dragon Dreaming by Lisa Victoria, another HAED chart. It's only 100 x101 so it'll be my main focus for WIPacolypse along with Midnight Secrets and ACEO Winter. I think when it's done I'll get it framed with the baby info printed on the mat so when the boy is older the mat can be changed out if desired but idk. Right now I'm gridding around the part of the chart I've tent stitched so far. I've got to get ready for work though so I'll

I just got a phone call saying I have the day off, woohoo! Nothing on tomorrow though so I'll wait and see. My arms are so sore after work I'm can't really stitch or anything. I wake up and my arms will be that numb tingly feeling so I'll be getting that checked out at the doctors this afternoon.
I've been working on Midnight Secrets, slowly the last few days. This picture is what it will look like completed. I'm only on the second page, still working on that top arch. I'm going to start working on pictures later this evening I hope. First gonna go grocery shopping, stitch, dr appointment, make pizza then finally internet time. That's all if I don't cave and play World of Warcraft. I'd say Skyrim but my hands go numb holding the controller for the XBox.

Stitching Away 12/27/2011
I spent the last two days stitching and sleeping. I have a cold which is so much better then the flu my daughter has today. I started a new kit I got for Christmas, it's a butterfly with chinese letters from Dimensions. I also worked on the Gold kit my dad and wife got me for my birthday. It has deer in a snowy wood scene and it's my hubby's fav piece. I have also worked on my ACEO Winter by Sarah Butcher, finished the row I was on. I'm still on the first page of her but she's my original HAED design I started years ago before we even moved to Idaho. Tonight I'm working on Midnight Secrets by Selina Fenech. I've done 200 stitches on her so far and will finish another 200 before I head to bed. Gotta love black and whites with a tent stitch. It only has like 9 colors in it. Before I worked on Midnight Secrets I put a little over a hundred stitches on Queen of Peace by Mirabilia.
Tomorrow we will be at Schweitzer Mountain for the whole day. My hubby is taking his nephew skiing while my daughter works the day shift at Kindercamp and I work a closing shift at Chimney Rock. I plan on bringing Midnight Secrets to work on while I wait for work to start though I may bring Winter as well. I'm finally getting to work on the girl in it and it has me excited. My work schedule for the next few days is Wednesday & Thursday 4pm to close, Friday 9am to 4pm, Saturday 2pm to close (it's New Year's Eve and I was told we wouldn't close till 1am, I'm hoping that's done cleaning up closed but I doubt it) and Sunday 9am to 4pm. My daughter has a babysitting gig after work on Saturday which should last till 2-4am so the plan is to sleep in the car....brrrr!
I've been trying to remember all the WIP I have going on and it's a lot let me tell you. I have in HAED (heavenandearthdesigns.com) alone:
Masquerade by Adele Sessler on my scroll bars
Vixen by Hannah Lynn
Annabelle and Jax by Hannah Lynn
SK Masquerade by CCK
SK Treasures by Selina Fenech
Midnight Secrets by Selina Fench
Mini Semiyar by Adele Sessler
I'm thinking there's more but I can't remember them. I also have a few kits not mentioned above, one being a native american totem pole pattern I picked up in Alaska. I have a few quilt tops and 3 pair of socks in progress as well. None of which will prolly get worked on again after tomorrow night when I start working for the week. It really wipes me

My daughter helped me set up this page so I would do this WIP thing with her. She leaves for collage this summer so I thought it would be a neat way to do something together. My understanding is that I list all my WIP (work in progress) and every full moon I post progress pictures that show what I've worked on. I love to start new projects so I imagine my list will continue to grow. Hopefully some items get crossed off as the year goes by.
I'm currently working at a place called Schweitzer Mountain Resort as a dishwasher in Chimney Rock Grill. The food there is delish but the holiday hours are killing me. My arms are so sore and my hands have started getting this tingly feeling in them sometimes. It's hard to stitch when your fingers loose feeling at odd times. I think it's the start of carpal tunnel but I only have a 5 day week left then I can take some time to heal between weekends. It's only gotten bad this last week when I had to work Wednesday to Sunday.
Today was like my Christmas day should have been. I stitched on a kit my dad and his wife got me for Christmas and the pattern ACEO Winter by Sara Butcher designed by Heaven and Earth designs. Google them, they have the best patterns ever. I just finished a pair of pink and lime green cabled socks and have started another pair of simple ribbed toe up socks. I have quite a few wip of the quilty nature as well.
